About The Event
Join us for this rare chance to take a nature walk with renowned international herbalist and author Julia Graves. On this plant walk you will discover the trees and herbs in our neighborhood and learn how to use them in everyday life to enhance your health. Julia will discuss how plants have a sign language, called signatures, with which they tell us about their medicinal properties. This traditional art is straightforward, fun and easy to learn. You will never look at plants the same way again!
This walk will compliment information found in Julia's The Language of Plants - A Guide to the Doctrine of Signatures Book.
Julia Graves is a master herbalist, homoeopath, Gestlat psychotherapist and flower essence creator. Known for her lively and clear teaching style, she was raised in Germany by an herbalist mother and orthopaedic surgeon father. Julia studied herbalism, anthroposophic massage and healing as well as cupping as a teenager.
She then studied medicine at Kiel university for four years. She wrote her doctoral thesis on her ethno-medical field research on traditional midwives and healers in a remote area of Zimbabwe. While working for Findhorn Flower Essences in their early days, she trained as a flower essence practitioner as well as a flower essence creator. Julia has since developed her own line of flower essences, the Lily Circle, as well as other kits.
In 2010, she founded the Naturopathic Earth Quake Survivor Relief Clinic in response to the devastating earthquake to Haiti, and has headed the clinic in its missions that has since offered free treatment to 70 000 people.
Julia is an acclaimed international lecturer. She is the author of The Language of Plants, a detailed guide to the doctrine of signatures, which has received an enthused response in the herbal scene since its publication in 2012, as well as of other books.
She brings 34 years of clinical experience to her teaching.
Julia is a personal teacher of mine (Jodi McKee writing here). Her herbal teachings, common sense approach and intuitive sense has really shaped who I am as an herbalist, healer and mother. Julia comes to Minnesota to teach about every two years so if these classes are calling to you do not miss this special opportunity.
