About The Event
Together we’ll explore the basics of tarot, how to develop tarot as a personal practice, and its function as an intuitive tool and soul medicine.
Maybe you’ve heard of tarot or picked up a deck, but you’ve been wondering what exactly IS tarot? Is there a right or wrong way to use it? How do I even start? Maybe you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by all of the symbols and archetypes. Maybe you’ve been using it but are looking for a little more foundation and guidance to effectively incorporate it into your life.
We’ll be addressing those questions, concerns, and more with a combination of formal instruction, discussion, and - most importantly - practice!
In this workshop you’ll learn:
- About the origins of tarot & the structure of a deck
- Tarot symbolism, numerology, and elemental energies
- How to ask the right questions
- Approaches to reading cards individually and together
- A comprehensive spread that is 100% accessible and customizable for readers of all levels of experience
- Answers to any of your other burning questions
Sydney will be working with a Rider-Waite-Smith-based deck (The Fountain Tarot). You can bring your own or decks are available for purchase from Jewelweed! We recommend that you bring (or purchase) a deck, the accompanying guidebook (if applicable), and a notebook or journal.
We invite you to prepare for our virtual time together by creating sacred space for your learning.
From Sydney: Take a little time before class to set your space and get settled. Grab your favorite mug of tea, perhaps light a candle, and gather any meaningful objects for your practice. (For example, I like to have a crystal my mother gave me, my pendulum, and along with a representation of each element for a mini-altar.) It will be helpful to have a clear table or floor space in front of you that is about 7 cards wide and 4 cards tall. Bring a notebook and pen, and of course, don't forget your deck! Before hopping on the Zoom, take a few moments to take some deep steady breaths and ground yourself in your space.
This virtual class will take place via Zoom. Virtual classes will remain small to maintain the intimate feel we enjoy so much, as well as create space for you to ask questions and express yourself. If you have any questions please feel free to email us @ email@example.com
**Due to our small class sizes, we do not offer refunds on classes after purchase.**
